About Dr. Rakshika
For Dr. Rakshika, the dream was always medicine. Growing up with a father who was a pharmacist, she was surrounded by healthcare from the very beginning.
But life had a slightly different plan.
“I didn’t get into a medical college… but I got the opportunity to become a veterinarian. And I chose it.”
And somewhere along that journey, it stopped being a second option—and became the right one.
Today, just a year into her professional journey and focusing on ophthalmology, she works in a space that’s both delicate and deeply impactful—restoring vision, relieving pain, and quite literally helping animals see the world again.
Because when it comes to eyes, timing is everything.
“One of the most impactful cases for me are ophthalmic emergencies—especially ruptured eyes. They’re intense, emotional… but when you’re able to save the eye, and sometimes even restore vision—it means everything.”
That moment when a pet can see again, when the panic turns into relief: that’s what stays.
But like every vet, her days are also filled with quirks that make you smile.
“I had a pet who hated going for walks. Wouldn’t move at all. But the moment he came to the hospital? Constant pacing in the OPD. Full energy.”
For Dr. Rakshika, the job isn’t just clinical—it’s emotional.
“Getting to love and cuddle these fur babies: that’s my favourite part.”
Looking ahead, she’s still exploring where the journey will take her but her foundation is clear: careful observation, early detection, and compassionate care.
And the belief she carries with her?
“Believe in magic, and you’ll see it happen.”
