About Dr. Priya Datta Kale
“I had the option to choose MBBS.” And she didn’t.
For Dr. Priya, the decision wasn’t about prestige—it was about passion.
“I grew up watching Animal Planet and Discovery with my father. That’s where it started—this curiosity, this connection with animals.”
That connection only grew stronger over time.
A consistent top performer through school and college, recipient of the INSPIRE scholarship, student leader, and committee member; her path could have gone in many directions. But she chose veterinary science. And later, made another bold decision.
“I left a government job and moved into the private sector because I felt more connected to working in the pet space.”
That instinct to follow where the impact feels real defines her journey.
Now, with 5 years of experience and a Master’s in Surgery and Radiology, she works at the intersection of precision and persistence where outcomes often depend on both skill and sheer determination.
One case, in particular, says it all.
“A beagle came in with foreign body ingestion. By the time we operated, there was severe intestinal necrosis.”
It wasn’t straightforward.
“Multiple enterotomies, enterectomies, anastomosis… and then constant monitoring. We were adjusting treatment every 6–10 hours.”
Day and night.
“I honestly didn’t think he would make it.”
But he did.
“Two years later, he’s still active and healthy.”
That’s not just medicine. That’s commitment.
Of course, not every day is this intense.
“Once, a cat climbed onto my back during a consult… and refused to come down.”
For Dr. Priya, the beauty of being a vet lies in the unpredictability, the different personalities, the different cases, the different people behind every pet.
“You get to see such a variety of temperaments, not just in animals, but in pet parents too.”
At home, things are slightly more predictable with Spoty and Snowy, her two cats.
Looking ahead, she’s focused on sharpening her skills further especially in advanced ultrasound and complex surgical procedures.
And the belief she carries with her?
“In a world where you can be anything, be kind.”
Simple. Strong. And exactly how she practices every day.
Meet Dr. Priya at our Navi Mumbai hospital for skilled, compassionate care backed by surgical expertise and unwavering dedication.
