About Dr. S. Rubiya Sulthana
“I’ve always been fascinated by how animals communicate… without words.”
For Dr. Rubiya, that curiosity became the foundation of everything.
Understanding behaviour. Reading between the lines. Noticing what isn’t being said. Because in veterinary medicine, that’s where the truth often lies.
With over 3 years of experience in OPD, she approaches every case with a mix of observation and intention, looking beyond symptoms to understand the root cause.
“I wanted a career where I could make a visible difference every day.”
And sometimes, that difference comes from simply choosing to look deeper.
One case that stayed with her?
“A cat named Mickey came in with a chronic facial skin condition. Six months, multiple clinics, no improvement.”
Persistent itching. Lethargy. Severe lesions.
Instead of continuing trial treatments, she took a step back.
“I decided to approach it diagnostically.”
Skin scraping. Cytology.
The result?
A Mycobacterium infection—something that had gone undetected all along.
“That changed everything.”
With targeted treatment and proper support, the transformation over two months was complete. The lesions healed. The cat recovered.
“But more than that, it was the relief on the owner’s face.”
That moment when frustration turns into hope: that’s what stayed.
“That’s when I knew… dermatology is what I want to pursue.”
Of course, not every moment in the clinic is this clinical.
“Once, during a routine temperature check… a cat’s anal glands decided to contribute directly to the consultation. Right into my mouth.”
Occupational hazard. No one prepares you for that.
But even through the chaos, the tough clients, the emotional weight of the job, her approach stays grounded.
“Even when people come in with anger or grief, it reminds me to respond with more empathy… and do better.”
Because for her, being a vet isn’t just about solving cases, it’s about handling people, emotions, and expectations with equal care.
“The best part? Solving a difficult case… and seeing the direct improvement in a pet’s life.”
Looking ahead, she’s focused on specialising in dermatology—diving deeper into a field that demands both precision and patience.
Because sometimes, the answer isn’t obvious. You just have to look closer.
Meet Dr. Rubiya at our Sadashivnagar hospital for thoughtful, diagnostic-driven care that gets to the root of your pet’s health concerns.

He fought bravely through a sudden and serious illness, and despite every effort, his body had been through too much. We are grateful for the love, care, and compassion shown to him by the doctors and nurses at Cessna who stood by him till the very end.
Our sincere thanks to doctors Parth, Amruth, Malavika, Adarsh, Ramesh, Pawan, Devaraja sir, and all the staff across IPD, Surgery and the rest. Your kindness and care gave our boy a huge fighting chance and we remain indebted.
Run free, sweet boy.
You were loved beyond measure, and you always will be. 🌈
