About Dr. Himanshu Sharma
“My father inspired me to become a veterinarian.”
For Dr. Himanshu, the journey into this field started at home but over time, it evolved into something much more personal.
Seven years into practice as an OPD clinician, she’s built a space for herself in a slightly different corner of veterinary medicine: avian and exotic care.
The patients? Not always your usual dogs and cats. Birds. Small mammals. Creatures that are often more fragile, more sensitive, and far harder to read.
“We get to meet a new kind of creature almost every day.”
And with that comes a different kind of challenge. Because exotic pets don’t just hide pain, they disguise it.
“Sometimes, they’ll literally hide themselves behind their pet parent, in corners trying to avoid being noticed.”
Which is exactly why this field demands a sharper eye, more patience, and a deeper understanding of behaviour.
One case that stayed with her?
“A bird with a head injury.”
It wasn’t just about treatment, it was about what that case represented.
“It pushed me to improve, to understand exotic and avian medicine better.”
Because in a space that’s still growing, every case teaches you something new.
For Dr. Himanshu, being a vet isn’t just about routine care, it’s about constantly adapting, learning, and stepping into unfamiliar territory.
And through it all, one thing remains consistent:
“Taking responsibility for a pet means giving them a good quality of life.”
Not just survival but proper nutrition, daily exercise, positive training, and preventive care.
At home, that care continues with Agaystia, her chocolate Doberman, who probably enjoys the benefits of both structure and a lot of attention.
Looking ahead, while she continues to build in her niche, her approach stays grounded in something simple. Service.
“The best way to find yourself… is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
Because in this profession, showing up for every species, every case is what truly defines you.

He fought bravely through a sudden and serious illness, and despite every effort, his body had been through too much. We are grateful for the love, care, and compassion shown to him by the doctors and nurses at Cessna who stood by him till the very end.
Our sincere thanks to doctors Parth, Amruth, Malavika, Adarsh, Ramesh, Pawan, Devaraja sir, and all the staff across IPD, Surgery and the rest. Your kindness and care gave our boy a huge fighting chance and we remain indebted.
Run free, sweet boy.
